Child in Roman Britain

roman4 professional actors and the pupils go back along a time-line to Roman Britain. What is the difference between an invader and a settler?

Four scenes are created following the fortunes of Governor Platius and his family.

Topics covered include: life in the home, meals, the women's toilet. hypercaust, petitioners. A Roman Market is created, plus a visit to the baths, the theatre and gladiators training.  A scene in a temple is staged.

Finally life at Hadrian's Wall is represented, with the training of the army and Roman road building, and attempts to deal with the Picts.

This Workshop is exciting, informative, funny and gives children many opportunities of working with our actors
